This feel-good book made my heart happy. It was sweet, fun, light-hearted and completely swoonworthy. It felt like a Christmas morning when I realized that I had this Lauren Blakely book tbr on my Kindle. I’d saved this for a time when I needed a shorter read. The story moved at a perfect pace. I didn’t feel like it was rushed at all. I actually prefer a quicker read. It was perfect!
“This is bad,” he says firmly, his breath coming heavily. But then, he’s not so certain at all.
“Is this bad?”
“Yes,” I answer quickly. “It’s bad. But it’s so good.”
“God, it’s so good,” he rasps, then devours my lips again.”
Oh boy, Simon earned his title as The Sexy One, he’s also a really good guy. Simon was a single dad, raising his 5-year-old daughter, Hayden. Simon needed someone he could trust and who would be great with his daughter. What he didn’t know is how irresistible she would be. Abby was gorgeous, smart and super sweet. He was also smart enough to know how valuable she was to have for Hayden. He was determined to be strictly professional with his cute nanny.
“If you looked up ‘hot single dad’ in the dictionary, you’d find his picture.” Yeah. He is. He’s the prize in the available dad sweepstakes.”
“He’s sweet, kind, smart, funny, and good. So damn good. And, for a bonus prize, add in that he’s an amazing father. That’s some sexy kryptonite right there.”
Abby didn’t need the other nannies to tell her how ridiculously hot her boss was. She couldn’t stop thinking about him. Simon was sinfully sexy, intelligent, and the most loving father. Watching him with his daughter would make any woman weak in the knees. She knows he steals glances at her when he thinks she isn’t looking. How long can they resist their feelings?
“And folks, this is reason number 547 why I can’t shake this desire. Because she’s so goddamn direct, and it’s a fucking turn-on. After my ex’s falseness, Abby’s honesty is refreshing and downright alluring.”
“We’re not a couple. We’re not together. She’s my daughter’s twenty-six-year-old nanny. I’m her thirty-four-year-old employer. Abby is bright and beautiful and funny and smart and so fucking sexy.”
I like that they didn’t just jump into a relationship. I enjoyed the slow build, loved the late night conversations and text banter. The Eagle facts were so random and original. I loved that it gave them something to bond over. Simon and Abby had easy, undeniable chemistry. Once they gave into their desire, it was H-O-T and S-E-X-Y absolutely no holding back. I also enjoyed every second of the time they spent with Hayden. I love kids in books, and Hayden was adorable. Trust me you need this book asap. I just can’t recommend this enough.
